Emma
was trained on the violin and piano at the Royal College of Music, London and
has a Music degree.
Lead
roles in the West End include Fantine
in Les Miserables, Miss Bell in Fame, Mavis
in Hot Stuff and Twinkie in Prisoner
Cell Block H, the Musical. Other roles in England include Moll
in Moll Flanders, Ranyevskaya in The Cherry
Orchard, Anita in West
Side Story, Marty in Grease, Adelaide
in Guys and Dolls, Cloris in Lock
up your Daughters, Lizzie in Jekkyl and Maria Elena in Buddy.
She has played leads in three productions nominated for Best Musical: Sophia
in the world premiere of Tom Jones, Lola
in Stone Free and Fraulein Kost in
Cabaret. In 1995, she won Best Female Performance during a festival of
One Act Plays, as Joyce in Ruffian
on the Stair. Television appearances include the comedy series Get
up Stand up for Channel 4, and the independent film Passengers.
Emma
has just finished a run of Fame in
the West End as Miss Belle. She
recently returned from Copenhagen
where she has been playing Florence in
the award-nominated musical Chess,
and has also sung on the newly released double CD of the show. Other European
shows include Grease as Rizzo,
Jesus Christ Superstar as Mary,
William Walton's Façade as Narrator, The Magic of Broadway as
soloist, and Fame as Miss
Bell. As a featured soloist, she has just finished a summer tour of The Symphonic
Seventies, performed in castles and stately homes around the country. She
has also worked with orchestras such as the Gothenberg Opera Symphony and the
Aalborg Symphony.
On
the radio Emma was featured on a BBC programme called The
Best of British on which she performed a duet with Elaine Paige. She has
sung with the BBC Concert and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestras
and took part in the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert, The Best of Gershwin and Andrew
Lloyd Webber's 50th Birthday, all performed at the Royal Albert Hall in
London.
Emma
also works as a session singer and has appeared on many TV shows including GMTV, Pebble Mill, London
Tonight and Pop Idol. She can also be heard on the new soundtracks and CDs of Robbie
Williams, Vinny Jones, Evita, Jesus
Christ Superstar and Saturday Night
Fever.
