Golden Sands
Golden Sands, the
largest resort on the Northern Black Sea coast, is located 17
kilometers north of the major sea port of Varna. It is a magnificent
resort with richly wooded hills, a white golden beach and clear blue
sea. There are a lot of famous, ancient mineral water springs. The
beach strip is 3.5 km long and up to 100m wide. The average air
temperature in summer is 27-30 degree and the water temperature is
25-28 degrees. Golden Sands suits both sun-worshippers and
sightseers, being near to Varna, the third largest town of Bulgaria,
offers a great number of places of interest.
The resort is abundant in lush vegetation and with the numerous
bushes and trees it resembles a real park. The mineral water running
out of several big pipes onto the beach, as well as the marvelous
wood bordering the Frangen Plateau turn Golden Sands into one of the
pearls of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
Many aquatic sports can be practiced at Golden Sands. The capacity
of the yacht port is more than 100 places. Qualified training
courses in tennis for children and grown-ups, in racing, diving,
skin-diving and yachting are organized. Sports lovers can take part
in tournaments in beach volleyball, street ball, court and table
tennis, yachting regattas. There is a casino,
many bars, mini- golf playground, horse-carriages and attractive
carts, water slides, good conditions and equipment for practicing
all kinds of water sports.

A number of famous
events take place here: the Strongest Man Competition, Miss and
Mister "Golden Sands" Competition, competitions for all breeds of
dogs, Satellite Tennis Tournament, Old-fashioned Auto Rally,
International Festival for Standard and Sport Dances, etc.
There are 4 five star, 19 four star, 39 three star and 18 two star
hotels, holiday clubs, two villa complexes and 10 luxury villas in
Golden Sands resort. The hotels offer a wide range of extra services
and facilities: refrigerators, TV sets, cars for rent, room service,
change of foreign currency, etc. They have sophisticated
communication equipment, TV cable and satellite connection. |
The resort
features numerous first-class restaurants, folk-style taverns,
snack-bars and cafeterias scattered all over the resort and
along the coastline where everyone can have a meal at reasonable
prices. Meals and specialties of the traditional national
cuisine as well as of the European and exotic cuisine are
served.
North of the resort is the village of Kranevo and south is
Chaika holiday village. Golden Sands merges with the St.
Konstantin and St. Elena resort and the Riviera resort. The area
is famous for the purest sand on the Black Sea coast. |
